Welcome to the word of Whoville, where Jim Carrey essays Dr Seuss’ character ‘Grinch’ who hates Christmas. But this changes after a girl, Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen) tries to reignite the Christmas spirit in him and in Whoville. This is one adventure you would not want to miss out on. Jim Carrey’s performance is a rib-tickling delight for audiences of all ages. Furthermore, this movie emphasises the importance of the Christmas spirit and how one must not let anything ruin their celebration. So spit out the Bah Humbug pill and smile!

2. The Nightmare Before Christmas (TNBC) (1993): Merry Halloween?!

‘THIS IS HALLOWEEN’ the inhabitants of Halloween Town keep singing. But Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon) has had enough of the mundane scares and thrills from Halloween, so he sets off on a pursuit to bring the happy Christmas spirit into the dark and eerie Halloween Town. So sing along, laugh and smile to this Tim Burton musical… If you dare!

Eight-year-old Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) is left behind, home alone. On Christmas eve, his home is invaded by two burglars. Join Kevin’s challenge in defeating these thieves as a cat and mouse game will make you laugh! The film is a light-hearted example of how good beats evil, and how one should be careful of what one wishes for… As you never know, trouble maybe around the corner. In short, DON’T MESS WITH THIS KID!

4. The Santa Clause movie (1994): The accidental Santa!

If you thought Tim Allen was impressive as Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story… Think again! In this movie, Allen portrays an ordinary businessman (Scott Calvin), who causes Santa clause to fall from his roof on Christmas eve. After he and his son complete Santa’s incomplete deliveries, they take a trip to North Pole where Calvin must be the new Santa Clause! This is the ideal Christmas movie to enjoy with the family. If you see Tim Allen coming down your chimney, grab a selfie!

5. The Night Before (TNB) (2015): Hangover… With an Xmas twist!

Whilst the films listed above are family-friendly movies, an entertaining film for the adults is The Night Before! The movie is about three friends (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anthony Mackie and Seth Rogen) who face a series of comical situations along the way. The film being a Seth Rogen flick, will make you ‘LOL’ at many points. Plus, if you’re a Hannah Montanna fan, then you maybe in for a treat this festive season!

Christmas is a time where we are spoilt for movie choices. There are plenty of movies for audiences of all ages to enjoy and spread the positive vibes. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
