Batti Gul Meter Chalu, which is directed by Shree Narayan Singh’s film and stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in lead roles, has been delayed and will now release in September.
Initially, the film was supposed to release on August 31, 2018. However, the release date of Batti Gul Meter Chalu is now postponed and the film will not hit the screens on September 14, 2018.
As the release date is now postponed, the film will now be clashing with Kajol starrer Helicopter Eela which is also scheduled to release on September 14 as well. A few posters of Helicopter Eela were shared by Kajol on her social media pages.
Shahid and Shraddha recently shot for a dance number together called Hard Hard. A few photos from the sets were out in which the duo was shooting for the song.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is based on the social issue of struggle a common man faces in terms of electricity. In the film, Shahid Kapoor and Yami Gautam are apparently playing the role of lawyers.
The actors recently finished the shoot of the film in Mumbai. The film is also shot extensively in Uttarakhand’s Tehri.
The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Shree Narayan Singh, Nitin Chandrachud, Kusum Arora and Nishant Pitti.
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor will be next working on Arjun Reddy’s Hindi remake. He stars alongside Tara Sutaria, who will be making her debut with Student Of The Year 2.
Shraddha Kapoor will be seen in horror comedy Stree that also stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles.
