Priyanka Chopra’s Bollywood comeback was keenly awaited as it marked three years since we saw the Quantico star feature in a Hindi film.
However, it has been confirmed that PeeCee is no longer a part of Salman Khan’s Bharat, which is being helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Zafar, who has worked with Priyanka in Gunday, took to Twitter in order to confirm this news:
“Yes, Priyanka Chopra, is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special, she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her … Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life 😊😉😍”.
Now, there have been several reasons for this departure but rumours are strife that marriage with Nick Jonas could be the main objective for opting out of the project.
In fact, many media reports are claiming that the actress is already engaged!
A source told PEOPLE magazine that the couple got engaged a week ago on her 36th birthday while the two were in London.
Jonas closed down a Tiffany store in New York City to buy an engagement ring, according to the insider.
“They are so happy,” the source says.
Representatives for both stars did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
A Jonas source tells PEOPLE the singer is “very, very happy.”
“His friends and family have never seen him like this, and they’re all really excited for him. He’s definitely very serious about her,” the source says.
Plus, it’s interesting how Ali Abbas Zafar mentions ‘Nick’ of time… This definitely adds fuel to the marriage rumours!
