Stunning singer-songwriter ‘Dixi’ from across the Atlantic is gearing up to storm the UK with her debut single ‘Need Nobody’ featuring the uber talented ‘Raxstar’.
With music by super-producer ‘Shayal’, the track is guaranteed to rock dancefloors not only in the UK but across the globe!
‘Need Nobody’ features Dixi’s hypnotic Hindi vocals, the inimitable Raxstar rap with a twist and earth-shattering beats by Shayal! Conceptually, this project steers clear of superfluous flashy additions to the video but instead, allows the track to do the talking, which it does very loudly!
Dixi is no newcomer to music. Dixi’s been utilising her singing ability since a very early age, performing bhajans and devotional hymns with her parents in temples.
This created a greater understanding and increased passion for music leading to Dixi becoming a member of Texas A&M University’s South Asian acapella group ‘Swaram’, and then being the lead female vocalist for the band ‘JashnATL’.
She was awarded Best Female Vocalist at a national acapella competition ‘Gathe Raho’ in 2012 and she also opened for the amazing Bollywood playback singer, ‘Shreya Ghoshal’ in 2012.
Amazingly, Dixi taught herself to play the piano at the age of six and her love of performing has seen her create a number of cover versions online affording her great recognition by some industry peers including ‘The Soch Band’, ‘Mickey Singh’ and ‘Sonam Kapoor’.
Not just a pretty face with a stunning voice, The New Yorker is also a pediatric resident physician at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center stateside.
