Thugs of Hindostan (ToH) has already created history by becoming the first Bollywood trailer to be launched at London’s prestigious BFI IMAX.
The launch marked the first ever Bollywood trailer launch at IMAX, for the most expensive Bollywood production to date.
Plus, the occasion marked the birth anniversary of the late Yash Chopra.
The UK launch was welcomed by canapés and drinks prior to a screening of the trailer which was hosted by Actor and broadcaster, Ameet Chana.
Speaking to Filme Shilmy about this collaboration, Avtar Panesar – Vice President, International operations expressed:
“It’s a great tie-up with IMAX. We released the trailer in four continents today. We started off in India, Dubai then London and by the end of the day in Australia.”

Avtar adds:
“We’re just amplifying that here is a film like Thugs of Hindostan which has merited an IMAX tie-up. Plus, we’re just amplifying that here is an extravaganza coming your way.”
As Mr Panesar says, the trailer is an extravaganza filled with jaw-dropping stunts, action-sequences that are set to keep the audiences on-edge.
Furthermore, marks a milestone in Indian cinema history as it unites two Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan for the first time.
Concluding the trailer, a line which sticks with the viewer is:
“Azaadi hai gunaah, toh kubool hai saza. Ab to Hoga wahi jo hai Manzoor-e-Khuda.”
Actresses Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh essay the female protagonists in the epic adventure film.
It has been helmed by Dhoom 3 fame Vijay Krishna Acharya.
Thugs of Hindostan is scheduled for an 8th November and is this year’s Big Diwali release.
