Juhi Chawla is one of the finest actresses in Bollywood and we can say this without the shadow of a doubt.
From her initial days of playing characters like Rashmi (Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak) to Sumitra Devi (Gulaab Gang), Juhi has come immensely far in her career.
Now, we see the former Miss India winner back on the big screen with a relevant and refreshing film like Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, for which she is excited and optimistic.Â
Chawla has worked with the finest directors in Bollywood… Ranging from Yash Chopra to Zoya Akhtar.
However, this is the first time she will be working with the Vidhu Vinod Chopra banner. Telling us about this experience, she says:
“I did the first ever Pepsi advert in India with him (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) but that was a long time ago. Then he made so many wonderful films, but never cast me in them!
This time, he called me up and said that he wrote the role with me in my mind. That was when I immediately decided that I’m doing the film.”
Juhi adds:
“I just loved the script. The way they’ve handled the story… From the beginning till the end, it flows beautifully. It’s got everything you expect from a wholesome film.”
As with several of her previous characters and Juhi’s vibrant personality, her role in this film also seems quite cute and fun.
She speaks to Filme Shilmy more about her role:
“I play this Punjabi caterer, who caters for this little theatre production company. Then she befriends the director (played by Rajkummar Rao) and it is their little adventure together.”
The Shelly Chopra Dhar film is very special as we get to see Juhi Chawla act with Anil Kapoor after over 10 years, since Salaam-E-Ishq.
