Bollywood actress Daisy Shah is roped in to play the lead in a Gujarati film titled Gujarat 11, her debut in the Gujarati film industry.
The Jai Ho actress will be seen working with Chalk and Duster director Jayant Gilatar. This is the first time the two will collaborate for a project.
Daisy being a Gujarati herself showed a lot of excitement and enthusiasm on becoming a part of Gujarat 11.
She was so excited, that she was ready to sign the film just after 45mins of narration.
In the film, Daisy will be seen enacting a football coach who builds a football team consisting of kids from juvenile homes and leads them to glory.
The movie will be shot in different parts of Mumbai and Gujarat.
The movie is directed and produced by Jayant Gilatar, who recently directed the critically acclaimed movies Chalk and Duster and Natsamrat (Gujarati remake).
He also founded and established the production house ‘JJ Creations’ with his Marathi movie Sadarakshanaay won over 9 awards including a Best Film Award.
He also produced the Marathi film Rannbhoomi and won 4 awards for it.
Daisy has also been a part of regional cinema.
She made her debut with a Tamil film Vande Mataram and later made a powerful impact with her Kannada debut performance in Bodyguard.
Daisy was last seen in Salman Khan starrer Race 3 where one of her dialogue ‘Our business is our business, none of your business’ went viral on social media.
Gujarat 11 is co-produced by Yash Shah and the music is given by Roopkumar Rathod, whilst the lyrics and dialogues are written by Dilip Rawal.
The remaining cast of the film is yet to be made official and it is expected to go on floors by 11th of February 2019.
