Katrina Kaif has been confirmed to pair with Akshay Kumar after 9 years in Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar’s Sooryavanshi.
The once superhit Jodi last worked in Tees Maar Khan which released in 2010 i.e. nine years back.
It will be after nine whole years that Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, most remembered for their movies like Namastey London, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Welcome, De Dana Dhan and Singh Is Kiing, will come back on screen.
While Rohit Shetty had previously informed that he would announce the leading lady of his cop-franchise movie soon, Karan Johar took to Twitter to confirm all the speculations about Katrina being the leading actress in the film.

Scheduled for an Eid release next year, the film is touted to clash with the Alia-Salman starrer InshaAllah which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Rumours were also doing rounds that Karan Johar was unsure about working in Sooryavanshi.
However, the producer, who backed Rohit Shetty’s last release from the franchise aka Simmba starring Ranveer Singh, is now producing Sooryavanshi too.
Karan was also the producer of Akshay’s last release Kesari.
Katrina’s forthcoming films also includes Salman Khan starrer Bharat which releases in June.
