After seven months of “some medical treatment” in America, Rishi Kapoor is on route to recovery according to filmmaker Rahuul Rawail.
Posting a picture of Rishi and himself, Rahuul writes:
“RISHI KAPOOR (CHINTU) is CANCER FREE!!!!” It is not clear if the picture is a recent one.
Informing the newspaper Hindustan Times Rahuul says:
“Yes, Rishi is absolutely cancer-free, now. I haven’t met him but spoke to him over the phone.
He called me in the morning [Tuesday] and gave me the [good] news that he has totally recovered from cancer.
There’s just a small follow up and procedure that he needs to get done to ensure that there is no recurrence anytime. So, that’s all that is left now.”
When enquired whether the actor would be coming back to India anytime soon, Rawail adds:
“I have no idea on that, yet. But he definitely wants to come back as soon as he can. Also, it has been a very personal conversation with him, so that’s all I can share.”
The publication also got in touch with Rishi’s elder brother, Randhir Kapoor and he also confirmed the news:
“Yes, he is much better, and he will come back soon. [On whether he is completely cured], he’s on his way to full recovery and it takes time, he’s got to finish the whole course, but he’s fine.”
Rishi’s daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, is also relieved that her father is on his way to recovery. Though she said she would not like to comment on her dad, she explains:
“Yes, he is recovering. With everybody’s prayers and wishes he is doing well.”
While there has been no official statement from the family, the actor’s wife, Neetu Kapoor, gave a hint about Rishi’s ailment, when she posted a picture from the family’s New Year’s celebration and wrote:
“Happy 2019. No resolutions only wish this year!!! Less pollution traffic!! Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign!!!
No hatred fewer poverty loads of love togetherness happiness n most imp. Good health.”
Even though Rishi has been away for all this while, he made sure that he stayed connected with his fans and fraternity through Twitter.
Not just this, several Bollywood celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, Anupam Kher, Javed Akhtar, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sonali Bendre, Maniesh Paul, also visited the veteran actor in New York and shared pictures on social media.
Well, here’s wishing Rishi Ji a speedier recovery!
