The makers of the biopic on Kargil hero Captain Vikram Batra, featuring Sidharth Malhotra, have revealed the film’s title, Shershaah.
Actor Kiara Advani will play the female lead in the film that is being bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

Sidharth said he is looking forward to playing Captain Batra on screen. “Excited to play Vikram Batra, a real-life hero on screen! Titled – #Shershaah! Shooting begins soon,” the actor posted on the microblogging site.
Directed by Vishnu Varadhan, the shooting of the film is set to begin soon.
Captain Vikram Batra, an officer of the Indian Army, fought in the Kargil War in June 1999 in the Dras sub-sector.
He was instrumental in the capture of Point 5140 on the Tololing Ridge leading to Tiger Hill.
He laid down his life during the subsequent operation of Point 4875, bravely rushing forward to rescue Lieutenant Naveen, a subaltern under Batra.
He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his actions during the war.
The Kargil hero was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra – India’s highest war-time gallantry award.
Sidharth will begin shooting from the first week of May in Chandigarh, followed by Palampur, Batra’s hometown.
The film will be extensively shot in North India for 70 days across the regions of Chandigarh, Palampur, Kashmir and Ladakh.
In addition, Sidharth’s forthcoming movies also include Jabariya Jodi with Parineeti Chopra.
While Kiara Advani’s upcoming film consists of Kabir Singh with Shahid Kapoor.
