Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor have been signed on for Dostana 2, though the third lead actor is yet to be confirmed.
Gearing up for his new production venture, Karan Johar exclaims: “I am thrilled to take the franchise forward with Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor.
This is Dharma’s first film with Kartik and we are excited to work with him! We can’t wait to create some desi boy and girl madness with him and Janhvi.
We will also introduce a male lead in this film who will join the incredible talent at Dharma. Collin D’Cunha makes his debut as a director with Dostana 2.”
Collin has previously assisted filmmakers like Reema Kagti on Talaash, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Rajkumar Hirani on PK, Sanju.
The first instalment featured Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan… It has been 11 years since this super-hit film released.
It marked the directorial debut of Tarun Mansukhani.
The production house has owned the title, Dostana, from the beginning.
The banner, started by Karan’s father, Yash Johar, in 1976, began its innings with Dostana, which was directed by Raj Khosla and starred Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha and Zeenat Aman.
It proceeded to become a huge hit.
One looks forward to the announcement of the third actor.
