Veteran singer Udit Narayan lodged a complaint at Amboli Police station stating that he had been receiving threats from an unknown number for over a month.
The police are now patrolling near his house with tightened up security.
Bharat Gaikwad, senior police inspector of Amboli police station reveals the details:
“The complaint was filed by the actor four days ago and since then we have increased patrolling near Udit’s residence.”
Moreover, the police station has transferred Udit Narayan’s case to the anti-extortion cell (AEC) of the Mumbai Crime Branch.
After investigation, it has been found that the calls were being made from a stolen phone, and found the name of the caller as Laxman.
However, upon further research, the police found out that the number was registered in the name of the security guard of the playback singer’s own residence.
The watchman upon interrogation revealed that his mobile was stolen a month ago while he was on the way to his hometown.
We hope things are soon resolved and Udit ji stays safe.
