Boman Irani will reportedly play the role of India’s former opening batsman and wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer in 83.
Nadiadwala Grandson resorted to social media to announce Irani’s collaboration in 83:
“To the man that said that if India wins the World Cup in 83, it should be declared a national holiday!’ Presenting @bomanirani as #FarokhEngineer!” the official handle of the banner wrote.
Boman, is apparently a big fan of former cricketer and his Instagram photo featuring the legendary cricketer is proof of it.
In 2018, Boman took to his Instagram handle to post a photo with his “childhood hero” Farokh Engineer.
“They say you must not meet your childhood heroes……Well, they are wrong! Charming, warm and humble is the legend that is Farokh Engineer,” Boman wrote in his caption.
Ranveer Singh, who will essay the role of Kapil Dev, former captain of Indian cricket team during 1983 World Cup, took to Twitter to welcome his new co-star Boman Irani in the film.
Both the actors will share screen space for the first time.
“All-star arrival! One of the most remarkable people I have ever met. One of the finest actors I know…Someone I admire immensely…
He’s one in a million! A special gem of a person and a universally loved, colossal talent. The one and only BOMAN IRANI IS IN THE BUILDING!” Ranveer wrote.
Ranveer’s wife Deepika Padukone will be playing Kapil Dev’s wife, Romi Bhatia in Kabir Khan’s film.
