Dabangg 3 is one of the most highly anticipated Bollywood films of 2019 and the trailer is finally out!
The three-minute trailer commences with Chulbul Pandey aka Salman Khan introducing himself.
He then proceeds to introduce his wife, Rajjo, played by Sonakshi Sinha.
We are then taken on a flashback, revealing just why Chulbul became the ‘bad-ass’ cop that we see today.
Mahesh Manjrekar’s daughter Saiee Manjrekar, makes her debut in this (as Khushi) and essays the young Chulbul’s love interest in the film.
Though both are in love with each other, all hell breaks loose when Kichha Sudeep, the antagonist, takes it on himself to separate the two lovebirds.
Whilst it is not very clear, it alludes that Khushi is murdered, leaving their love incomplete.
Years later, South superstar Kichha Sudeep, now a more powerful goon, comes back into the area where inspector Pandey is in charge and therefore, into his life.
The battle between the antagonist and the protagonist in the climax is, therefore, a personal one and Chulbul proclaims that he will leave no stone unturned to make him suffer.
At the trailer launch, Salman Khan promises this instalment to be the most ‘dhamakedaar’ one yet. He says:
“The third one should be the biggest of the lot. Usually, the sequels don’t do as well as the first one.
We have really worked hard on this one. There is not just entertainment and action but also has a story. It has a lot more than just masala.”
Sonakshi Sinha expressed that she had a deja vu moment attending the trailer launch of the film:
“I have been feeling like my first film is releasing all over again. It’s a very strange feeling,” she said.
As the movie is based on the background story of Chulbul, the father character is reported to be essayed by Pramod Khanna, Vinod Khanna’s brother, after the actor’s demise.
According to media reports, veteran actor Dimple Kapadia will also return to play Pandey’s mother.
Produced by Nikhil Dwivedi, Salma Khan and Arbaaz Khan Dabangg 3 will be helmed by Prabhudeva.
It releases on December 20.
