Shefali Bagga: “I Don’t Think That I Was in Any Group, I always Stood For Myself”

Shefali Bagga is an Indian Journalist and Television Anchor, primarily known for being the anchor on leading news channels like Tej, Aaj Tak and India Today.

Her confident and fearless attitude raised a lot of attention and after spending several weeks in the Bigg Boss 13 house.

Despite making and learning from mistakes, the 25-year-old from Delhi always expressed her opinions and never shied away from this.

Particularly, her ‘reporter’ task will forever be appreciated as she showcased her true talent and forte in that profession.

Post her big eviction alongside Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Rashami Desai, Shefali talks to Filme Shilmy about her Bigg Boss experience.

You’ve expressed disappointment of your eviction. Where do you think it went wrong?

I’m feeling disappointed and shocked that I got evicted so early because people who are the least deserving are still in the show.

Even I am trying to get figure out the reason why I’ve been evicted.

Maybe the last task, if we hadn’t given the ticket to the finale to anyone, perhaps if we equalised it, then perhaps the most deserving housemates could’ve still been in the house.

I think Arti is the least deserving contestant because she is under-confident and thought that she would be evicted, which was her reaction when Salman announced the names.

I think she is very weak and doesn’t have a stand of her own, she was just blaming someone without any reason.

Her entire reason was very weak.

Some think that you formed an alliance with the wrong people and were unable to break free from that. Would you agree?

I don’t think that I was in any group. I was always standing for myself. In the last task, I was going to give the delivery to Asim so that the situation could be equalised.

I wasn’t standing in any group.

That was the decision by the ‘Sanchalak’. Rashami gave Devoleena, a chance… I know it was late but we were hoping she would play smartly and give it to Asim.

Unfortunately, she didn’t and therefore, the task could not be equalised.

Others think that you constantly took a stand, which seemed more in favour of Rashami’s team rather than Sidharth’s. What is your perspective on this?

No, that never happened. I took a stand where I was at a benefit.

If you remember the bank task, where I was in Sidharth Shukla, Arti, Shehnaz and Asim’s team, I played sincerely for that team.

I was not biased at all.

Do you think Shehnaz played a better game than you and do you feel those harsh exchange of words with Shehnaz, do you feel that might’ve formed negative opinions on you?

That really was my action to a reaction. I was disappointed with the way she behaved with Siddhartha Dey.

I said some things that were wrong, but I had no intention to question someone’s character, but Shehnaz provoked me to such an extent and abused me.

She also showered abuses on my character, so that incident was my reaction to an action.

It was a mistake, so I apologised for it and I was guilty. I regret it and two wrongs don’t make a right.

My intention was never to question her personality. I’ve apologised for it.

Anyone from the wildcards that you dislike or impressed by so far?

I’ve not had the chance to watch the episode after our eviction due to doing back-to-back interviews.

However, I’ve heard that Himanshi Khurana and Shehnaz’s interactions will attract eyeballs due to their controversy outside the house.

As a viewer, I’m curious to see how things will transpire going forward in the show.

Listen to the Shefali Bagga interview here:

What motivated you to participate in BB13 and do you feel you’ve achieved after coming out?

I was very excited to participate in Bigg Boss. Being the one who read headlines, to the person who makes the headlines, that was interesting and challenging for me.

Now that the cameras have turned towards me has given me fame, name and support from people.

Henceforth, I will be known for my personality as a human being, rather than my profession as a journalist.

What are your plans post Bigg Boss?

I am a journalist at heart and that ‘keeda’ will never escape. I’m open to many opportunities.

However, I’m particularly keen on hosting and acting!

Bigg Boss 13 airs every day from 21:30 on Colors TV.
