Pranutan Bahl and Aparshakti Khurana will play lead roles in the quirky comedy Helmet produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions and Dino Morea’s production house, DM Movies.
This film will be Aparshakti’s first as a lead actor and Pranutan’s second feature film post-Salman Khan’s production, Notebook.
It will also feature Apar’s Stree co-star Abhishek Banerjee.
Helmet is a comedy which touches upon a topic, possibly ‘condoms’ going by a short video shared on Pranutan’s Instagram page.
As such, given that such a subject is still considered a ‘taboo’ in India, the movie aims to showcase the same in a funny and entertaining manner.
Director Satram Ramani has previously assisted Prabhudheva, Pooja Bhatt and Sohail Khan and this marks his directorial debut.
Furthermore, Rohan Shankar, who previously wrote Luka Chuppi has been roped in as the writer, therefore several thought-provoking and humourous dialogues/situations are expected.
Bankroller Dino Morea has expressed his optimism for this unconventional project:
“Satram and Rohan have cracked a fantastic, relevant story which will appeal to each and everyone.”
Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director -Sony Pictures Entertainment India, is also delighted to be supporting the film. He says:
“At Sony, we have always aimed at supporting those projects that stem from a strong content base and are glad that Dino Morea brought this film to us.
We believe in telling insightful stories and Helmet is one such film that picks a subject that is of utmost need today and is told in a way which will touch a chord with audiences.”
According to media reports, the film has gone on floors in Varanasi and is scheduled for a worldwide release in 2020.
