Director Imtiaz Ali returns to the director’s seat with Love Aaj Kal and has unveiled the trailer, starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan.
The trailer exhibits two love stories, one from 1990 and the other set in 2020, in which Kartik is the hero in both the stories.
Meanwhile, Sara is part of his love story in 2020. Kartik romances actor Arushi Sharma in the love story set in 1990.
While Sara plays the same age, Kartik is also seen as a schoolboy, who is also seen hurling abuses in the trailer.
Plus, there is even a lovemaking scene with Sara in addition to a shirtless one.
Going by this first glimpse, there is the revival of songs like Twist and Aahun Aahun from the original 2009 film.
The two actors – Kartik and Sara – have paired up for the first time and are stepping into the shoes of Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan’s from the original film.
Speaking about working with the new actors, Imtiaz exclusively shares with Filme Shilmy:
“Sara and Kartik were extremely devoted. They were in complete surrender mode and one thing common between them is that they had the great awesome emotional energy.
Even if they have been times they were completely emotionally drained, I would ask them to change something and go back… Which they would do again without hesitation.
Sometimes they would even suggest it. In this movie, there were many scenes which were emotionally devouring.
I was extremely impressed by their patience and emotional perseverance and by the fact that they were fresh and inspiring.”
The movie, releasing on Valentines’ Day (14th February 2020) also stars Randeep Hooda in a pivotal role.
