Aanand L Rai’s forthcoming film titled Atrangi Re has been announced and unites Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar for the first time on screen.
The makers have shared an image that witnesses the male actors, Akshay and Dhanush kissing Sara on the cheeks.
While the heroes adopt a sleek look with different shades of grey, Sara, on the other hand, looks classic in her yellow suit, jhumkas, and a bindi.
Director Aanand shares his excitement in a media interview:
“It takes a secure actor like Akshay to do such a role. He has been pushing the envelope and is always up for challenges.”
About casting Sara and Dhanush (who works with Rai for the second time after Raanjhanaa) together for the first time, he adds:
“Their pairing is interesting and exciting. Fans will love the freshness these two will bring on the big screen.”
“I am thrilled to be working with Aanand L Rai, as I have always admired the way he has showcased his stories. When he narrated the film to me, I said ‘yes’ within 10 minutes.
It is a challenging character to play, but at the same time, it is such a special role that my heart just couldn’t say ‘no’ to it. I will remember it for the rest of my life.
My combination with Sara and Dhanush truly makes it true to its title — Atrangi! And I know that Aanand, in his special and simple way of storytelling, will only add magic to it.
As I said, my heart just couldn’t let this one go.”
Sara also expresses her excitement:
“I can’t believe my luck. Blessed to be working with Aanand L Rai sir, in an AR Rahman musical.
And so thankful to have Akshay Kumar sir join hands with the extremely talented and incredibly humble Dhanush and myself.”
Atrangi Re will be presented by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Colours Yellow Production along with Akshay Kumar’s Cape Of Good Films.
Written by Himanshu Sharma, the music will be backed by the legendary musician AR Rahman.
The film will reportedly going on floors on March 1st, 2020.
