Mr India To Now Become Trioligy As Confirmed by Zee Studios

After much discussion of a potential sequel to Mr India, it has been confirmed that Zee Studios will collaborate with Ali Abbas Zafar for a trilogy of the Shekhar Kapur classic.

In a press announcement by the production house, it has been stated that the movie will be based in a new, relevant and contemporary superhero world.

The director is currently working on the script and building the superhero universe.

If reports are to be believed, the studio is preparing to make the film on a massive scale, making it one of the biggest spectacle films to come out of India.

Sharing a few words on this, Zafar said: “It is a huge responsibility to carry forward an iconic character that has been loved by Indians for so many years.

I have just commenced working on the script, no actor has been locked till now, once the first draft of the script is ready, and we will begin the casting process.

The film involves massive amounts of pre-production and will go on floor early next year.”

Shariq Patel, CEO, ZEE Studios comments: “We are excited to have Ali on board for Mr India.

This is not a ‘part 2’ or a remake of the older film as recently reported in some sections of the media, but a re-imagining of the iconic classic.”

There have been further speculations that a 2022 release is in the pipeline, aiming for a festival holiday.

Whilst there are no confirmed names headlining the film, some media reports strongly hinted Ranveer Singh to be a part of this franchise.

Interestingly, Ali and Ranveer have previously worked together in the 2014 period action drama, Gunday, which was produced by Yash Raj Films.

Further updates to follow.
