Not only will Sanjay Leela Bhansali be working with Alia Bhatt in Gangubai Kathiawadi, but there are also strong conjectures of his first collaboration with Katrina Kaif in the same film.
According to the media, SLB has reportedly roped in Katrina for a special dance number for his next.
Such speculations arose due to Katrina being papped outside Bhansali’s office, leading many of the reports strengthening this hearsay.
Kaif has been seen wooing the audience in several dance numbers like Chikni Chameli, Sheila Ki Jawaani, Kamli and more.
With Bhansali working his magic on every actor he casts, we are certainly excited to watch Katrina in a totally different avatar in the magnum-opus director’s next project.
On the work front, Kaif is currently gearing for the release of her film Sooryavanshi opposite Akshay Kumar, which is directed by Rohit Shetty.
The movie is scheduled for a 27th March 2020 release.
Gangubai itself is set to release in September this year and has been touted to be Bhansali’s quickest film yet.
Kathiawadi’s life has been chronicled in the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, penned by best-selling novelist and retired investigative reporter S Hussain Zaidi.
Gangubai was multi-faceted: Indian criminal, don, sex worker, businesswoman and a controversial figure from Kathiawar, India.
She operated a sex racket in the Hera Mandi red light district and emerged as a very influential figure in Mumbai through the 60s.
