Wajid Khan, of Bollywood composer duo of Sajid-Wajid has left us.
The news was broken by entertainment presenter Faridoon Shahryar, who tweeted:
”Sad News: Noted singer Sonu Nigam just confirmed to me that music composer Wajid Khan of Sajid-Wajid passed away a short while back. He was suffering from Covid 19.”
But contrary to this, Khan reportedly died due to heart and Kidney issues – as per FilmiBeat.
Reports also convey that Wajid was admitted to a Mumbai-based hospital in serious condition and the music composer has breathed his last today.
Sanjay Tandon the Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS) confirmed this news to the Indian news daily:
“We have received a message that he is not well and has been hospitalised. I am trying to reach Sajid to know about his condition.”
The composer/singer made his last public appearance at the music launch of Dabangg 3.
As such, the composer duo of Sajid-Wajid have been Salman Khan’s favourite music composers and were given a break by the Bollywood superstar in his film Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya in 1998.
As a musical pair, they also composed the songs for other Salman Khan films like Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, Partner and Dabangg, to name a few.
Sajid-Wajid recently composed Salman Khan’s lockdown songs Bhai Bhai and Pyaar Karona.
He was also a prominent face as a reality show-judge on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
May his soul rest in peace.
