On the occasion of New Year, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga (of Kabir Singh fame) announced his next Bollywood film Animal.
Now, rumours are rife that Tripti Dimri has also joined the stellar cast which consists of Ranbir Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Anil Kapoor.
A popular Bollywood magazine cites a source who informed them: “Some big and popular names had auditioned for this role.
Sara Ali Khan had also auditioned for the movie but the makers were quite impressed with Tripti’s work and audition tape.
They thought she would bring that freshness to the character and a young appeal.”
Interestingly, both Parineeti and Ranbir have never worked together before, Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor too have not shared screen space either.
Tripti made big waves with her performance in Anvita Dutt’s Bulbbul, a period fantasy, with a hard-hitting and thought-provoking role as a Thakurain-turned-vigilante.
In fact, she recently won the Filmfare award for Best Actor in a Web Original Film (Female) for her phenomenal performance in Bulbbul at our very first OTT awards.
According to media reports, Ranbir Kapoor agreed to star in Animal as soon as director Sandeep Reddy Vanga narrated the story.
Eager to start the filming, he shared: “During the pandemic, we all got some time to introspect and choose films that are close to our hearts.
So when Sandeep narrated the story, I grew close to the character and was immediately keen on doing the role.
I’m a huge admirer of both of his movies and really looking forward to our creative collaboration.
Bhushan sir is one of the producers who are backing strong, entertaining cinema and his immense knowledge of music will be seen in Animal.
I am so grateful to work with such a great ensemble cast. I can’t wait to start the shoot for Animal.”
