After suffering a Cardiac arrest, Bollywood actor and director Rajiv Kapoor has passed away, at the age of 58.
Brother Randhir Kapoor rushed him to Inlaks Hospital, which was the closest medical facility near their residence in Chembur. Sadly, the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Randhir confirmed the sad and shocking news with the media saying: “I have lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more. The doctors tried their best but could not save him.”
He added, “I am at the hospital, waiting for his body.” Rajiv Kapoor is known for his performance in Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985) and ‘Ek Jaan Hain Hum (1983).
Rajiv also helmed Prem Granth (1996), which starred Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit-Nene in the leads.

Rajiv Kapoor also starred in Aasmaan, Zabardast, Lover Boy and Hum To Chale Pardes. His last acting role was Zimmedaar in 1990 before his ventures into directing and producing.
As such, Mr Kapoor’s final project was Aa Ab Laut Chalen, which starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshaye Khanna and was directed by brother Rishi.
However, it has been reported the film’s ‘tepid’ success was allegedly the reason why Kapoor withdrew from the industry.
Just last year Rishi Kapoor had passed away due to a lengthy battle with cancer.
May Rajiv Kapoor’s soul rest in peace.
