Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur Roped In For ‘Jab Khuli Kitaab’

Hindi film veterans Dimple Kapadia (Tenet) and Pankaj Kapur (Maqbool) are set to headline Saurabh Shukla’s directorial, Jab Khuli Kitaab. Both actors will play an older couple seeking a divorce after 50 years of togetherness.

Producers Applause Entertainment cite: “The film deals with the dysfunctionality of relationships and its impact on the family. With dollops of humour and heart. The high energy repartee and the multi-generational family dynamics at the forefront make this the rare Hindi comedy that is both universal and intimate.”

Set in Uttarakhand, the picture wraps its start-to-finish schedule in Ranikhet. Shukla says the movie is close to his heart and is thrilled to have legends like Kapur, Kapadia as the leads:

“We all say that one should be transparent and clean in any relationship but how many of us are open to facing the truth in our own relationships? The film is a rom-com with a couple in their 70s. You see them doing what any teenager will do in their relationships. The film is a joyride where you laugh, fall in love and cry with this unique couple,” says Shukla.

Aparshakti Khurana, Samir Soni and Nauheed Cyrusi also feature in pivotal roles. Other developments to follow.
