In a move to support India’s Independent Music Community, Oscar-winning music virtuoso AR Rahman (Lagaan) teams up with HBAR Foundation to create content for a new NFT music platform. It also marks the maestro’s first NFT.
Digital currency outfit HBAR will provide grant and organisational support for the NFT platform’s development. This merger kicks off in the first quarter of this year.
“The new platform will enable independent musical artists to release content as NFTs, interact with fans, engage with their communities and help monetise their creations,” says Rahman.
This collaboration promises to build the blockchain ecosystem in India. As such, HBAR Foundation fuels the development of the Hedera ecosystem by providing grants and other resources to developers, startups and organizations that seek to launch decentralized applications in DeFi, NFTs, CBDCs, ESGs, gaming and other sectors.
Just recently, Rahman’s daughter got engaged. This major financial move also coincides with his 55th birthday celebrations and he also helms the music for Atrangi Re. The movie is out on Disney+Hotstar.
