Pooja Bhatt Roped In For Feminist Film, Sanaa

Director and writer Sudhanshu Saria casts Pooja Bhatt in a pivotal role for his upcoming film Sanaa. Bhatt, the headline star of Netflix’s Bombay Begums joins the cast consisting of Radhika Madan, Sohum Shah and Shikha Talsania. The actor says: “Sanaa is a deeply moving and astonishingly perceptive film that captures society’s judgments around women. In a way that is going to jolt a lot of people out of their preconceived notions & comfort zone. I am thrilled and honoured that Sudhanshu made me a part of this truly important film-one. It examines the lives of women as we actually live them and not in a way the world thinks or wishes that we do.” The picture is backed by Four Line Entertainment. Saria is also the show-runner of Amazon’s Masoom and co-writes, producing the forthcoming season of Delhi Crime on Netflix.

Music Legends Return To Superstar Singer Season 2 On Sony TV

Hindi playback singers Alka Yagnik, Javed Ali and Himesh Reshammiya reprise their roles as judges for the second season of the reality show Superstar Singer. Yagnik says: “Season 1 was a joyous roller coaster ride that brought in a sense of pride in me. I was amazed to see such little dynamites acing the singing game with such ease and extraordinary voices. It’s amazing to see the kind of talent these youngsters have in them. I am honoured to be a part of their journey where together where can guide and groom them to become the country’s next singing stars.” Aditya Narayan steps in as host. The series is backed by Frames Production and broadcasts on Sony TV from April 23, 2022.

Severance Gets Renewal For Second Series On Apple TV+

Severance on Apple TV+ gets renewed for a second series, makers announce. Story revolves around Mark Scout (Adam Scott) who leads a team at Lumon Industries. Employees undergo a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question as Mark finds himself at the centre of an unravelling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.  Season one finale episode The We We Are shows the team discover troubling revelations. Ben Stiller, Nicky Weinstock and Jackie Cohn executive produce through Red Hour Productions. Patricia Arquette and Adam Scott serve as producers. Dan Erickson is the creator and writer.
