Celebrating the 75th year of India’s independence, the theme of Summer Funk is Spirit of India. Participants shall learn dance routines from SHIAMAK expert faculty and groove to the biggest Bollywood hits.
Spirit of India marks the celebration of the diverse culture, mythology, spirituality, colourful festivals, rich history, flamboyant weddings, unifying music and exhilarating dances of India in true Bollywood style!
The extravaganza promises spectacular lighting, colourful costumes, latest music, theme-based choreography and power-packed performances that shall make this of its kind stage show. Instructor Supriya Chavan will be leading from the front.
The Summer Funk classes start from 23rd April onwards and the show will be held on the 23rd of July at Leicester’s Peepul Centre.
Chavan is Born and brought up in Pune. Shen then moved to Mumbai after completing her master’s to explore her inner interests and passion for dance. Her enrolment in Shiamak’s OYP (One Year Programme) changed her life.
After 6 years of institutional teaching in different cities across India, now she is spreading her expertise and vision for art and dance in a much bigger way in London.
During her career, Supriya has performed at various Awards shows like IIFA, TOIFA, Filmfare, Zee Cine, Star Guild, Mirchi Music and Lux Golden Petal.
Over her years of teaching Supriya has taught her style to stars such as Shilpa Shetty, Krystle D’Souza and Aditi Rao Hydari.
