ZEE5 Releases News Slate For 2022
ZEE5 Global reveals a new content slate for 2022 that encompasses 40+ originals and 40+ movies across languages and genres. Curates a diverse portfolio of new originals including The Broken News. In association with BBC Studios. Forensic, starring Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte. Theatrical blockbusters like The Kashmir Files, Jhund, Attack. Along with the latest seasons of audience favourites – Pitchers 2, Abhay 3, Sunflower 2 and Tripling 3. The line-up unveils regionals with some of the most awaited shows and movies in Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi and Bengali. Tamil potboilers like Valimai will also be available to stream.
Prithviraj and Anek Trailers Revealed
Hindi cinema launches two new trailers. Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s Prithviraj exhibits Akshay Kumar in the titular role. He plays King Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chauhan dynasty. He takes on Muhammad Ghori of the Ghurid dynasty in The First Battle of Tarain. Sanjay Dutt plays Ghori, while Manushi Chillar plays Princess Samyukta. Sakshi Tanwar, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana and Manav Vij also star. The picture is backed by Yash Raj Films for June 3, 2022 release. The film is dubbed in Tamil and Telugu.
Anubhav Sinha returns with another social thriller, Anek. The picture is set against the geopolitical backdrop of Northeast India. Ayushmann Khurrana plays Indian security personnel in the Northeast region. As he goes on a mission to help two opposite sides in the region to agree to a peaceful compromise, he encounters stark realities. Khurrana is seen as a soldier for the first time in the film. The picture is backed by Sinha’s Benaras Mediaworks and T-Series. AA Films is roped in as distributors. J.D. Chakravarthy, Andrea Kevichüsa, Manoj Pahwa and Kumud Mishra also feature in essential roles. The film hits cinemas on May 27, 2022.
Deepika Padukone Appointed As Jury Member At Cannes 2022
Deepika Padukone is appointed as a jury member at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. The actor, who has been a regular attendee of the festival since 2017, is the sole Indian artist on the panel. The festival kicks off from May 16 until May 28, 2022. The Gehraiyaan actor walks the red carpet on all 10 days. Padukone is part of an eight-member jury presided by French actor Vincent Lindon. She is joined by Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi. Swedish actress Noomi Rapace. Actress screenwriter producer Rebecca Hall. Italian actress Jasmine Trinca. French director Ladj Ly. American director Jeff Nichols and director Joachim Trier from Norway. Several films will be screened at the festival. These include David Cronenberg’s dystopian Sci-Fi drama Crimes of the Future. The mystery thriller Decision to Leave by South Korean director Park Chan-wook. Showing Up from First Cow by filmmaker Kelly Reichardt. India is the official country of honour at the Marche Du Film. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is set to have its market screening on May 19. Director and actor R Madhavan will also walk the red carpet. Several other Indian talents will be seen and further developments to follow.
