Ranbir Kapoor Starrer, Shamshera Trailer Release
Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera trailer is finally out. Directed by Karan Malhotra, it shows the story of a dacoit who is completing his father’s mission. Ranbir Kapoor portrays both father and son in the film. Sanjay Dutt is cast as the antagonist Shuddh Singh. He is employed by the British to find the dacoit. Vaani Kapoor is seen as Sona, the most sought-after travelling performer of India during the 1800s. Set in 1871, the backdrop is within the fictitious city of Keza. The movie will have an IMAX format and besides Hindi, will be dubbed in Tamil, and Telugu. A Yash Raj Films release on July 22, 2022.
Zindagi Acquires Saba Qamar’s Show, Baaghi
Zindagi is set to launch Baaghi – a tragic tale of honour killing of Fauzia Batool aka Qandeel Baloch that shocked the world, on its DTH services on Tata Play, Dish TV | D2H, Airtel TV starting 28th June at 7 pm. Saba Qamar depicts the life of a young ambitious Baloch girl, Fauzia Batool, from a quaint village who aspired to be a diva. The Pakistani series highlights her fight against all odds to carve her own identity as Qandeel Balouch. The story aims to humanise the late social media sensation, who was undeserving of the hatred she received.

Unapologetic documentary on singer Sona Mohapatra, Shut Up Sona, gets global reach by its streaming on Friday, 1st July on ZEE5 Global. The Indian award-winning documentary directed by Deepti Gupta and produced by Mohapatra follows the story of the singer as she takes on blatant misogyny on social media, tirelessly fights for equal representation of women in the music industry and stands up to all those who try to police her body, her mind, and her creativity. The doc travelled to multiple film festivals across the world like MAMI and London Indian Film Festival, to name a few. It has won several awards along the way too. In other ZEE5 news, Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad will be streaming on the platform, alongside a slate of several Telugu films.
