Bestowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with having adult Super Hero alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago, Billy – aka Shazam – and his family are thrust into a battle for their lives and the fate of their world.

Shazam! Fury of the God stars returning cast members Zachary Levi (Thor: Ragnarok) as Shazam; Asher Angel (Andi Mack) as Billy Batson; Jack Dylan Grazer (It: Chapter Two) as Freddy Freeman; Adam Brody (Promising Young Woman) as Super Hero Freddy; Ross Butler (Raya and the Last Dragon) as Super Hero Eugene, with many more.
Levi says: “Hopefully everybody wants to go see it, and hopefully, everybody enjoys it. And then they go tell all their friends and family and they all go see it too. And if they do, then Warner Brothers will, I would imagine, say ‘Okay, great. Well, make a third one’. And that one should be us killing zombies!”
Director David F. Sandberg made a paradigm shift from helming scary stories to a superhero flick like this. He describes: “I like all kinds of movies, it was a dream come true to do this type of film as well with the action. But I can’t stay away from horror completely that’s why they have some spooky elements. Like in the first one had the boardroom and my wife turning into ash. In this one, we have monsters coming into Philadelphia and actually get to have some scary mayhem.”
The film releases in UK cinemas on 17th March 2023.
