Veteran Indian actor Nafisa Ali shared the news about her being diagnosed with peritoneal and ovarian cancer on social media.
The Guzaarish fame actor shared that she has been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer.
She posted on her Instagram account a photo with her close friend Sonia Gandhi and shared:
“Just met my precious friend who wished me luck & to get well from my just diagnosed stage 3 cancer.”
Nafisa ji, who made her film debut as a young actor in late Shashi Kapoor’s Junoon in 1979, is truly a fighter and her recent Instagram pictures are a proof.
Nafisa Ali took to social media and shared some beautiful pictures of her with the family saying how they are her strength.
She captioned one of the photos, “My Family and strength”.
The veteran is quite active on social media and often shares selfies and family photos, but this time, the captions read something very heart-breaking.
Meanwhile, fans and well-wishers have been showering prayers and wishes on social media.
She has worked in films like Life in a Metro, Junoon, Major Saab, Yamla Pagla Deewana among others.
Ali also contested the Lok Sabha election in 2009 from Lucknow. But, she had re-joined the Congress party in the same year.
Nafisa is married to Col R.S. Sodhi and has three children – Armana, Pia and Ajit.
