On May 8, a lot of tweets and articles targetted Kangana Ranaut regarding the shift in date of her next film Mental Hai Kya.
These tweets alleged Kangana slyly moved the release date to July 26 – which is also the rescheduled date of Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30.
“My decision my film…so all brickbats directed to me pls! I’m my own person,” Ekta Kapoor as soon as she came across the hate.
Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel then came to her sister’s defence accusing actor Roshan of orchestrating the trolling through his PR.
“What to expect from a man who always prefers to attack your back rather than meeting you in the battlefield, [how much you and your PR will pull Kangana down, the more she’ll hurt you] so far it wasn’t her concern [but now you wait Jadoo],” wrote Rangoli.
Ekta Kapoor then addressed the trolls: “The ugly underground tweets have begun. I’ve promised to keep it clean and have assurances from my actors on the same. I hope personal assaults on them stop.”
Chandel mentions before the change in the film’s release date, Ekta Kapoor met her ‘childhood friend Hrithik Roshan, who agreed to it, but then used Ranaut as a ‘punching bag’ as ‘he can’t say anything to Ekta’.
Ekta Kapoor tweeted an official statement claiming the decision to move the date was taken by Balaji Telefilms ‘after recommendations from the distributors, trade analysts and a top research team’.
The tweet exchange turned uglier when Rangoli lashed out at Hrithik for using his PR to campaign against KR, she has come up with yet another bomb.
Why do we have to do these things. Money is imp but why to spoil someone’s film and career. Ekta and Kangana have assured a dignified release.
Pls someone do something to stop this!#Kangana #Hrithik pic.twitter.com/W8Zfc225Uj— Nikita (@Nikitanishu89) May 8, 2019
She took to Twitter and Retweeted a picture which is supposedly (not proven) a snapshot of the PR email.
So far, Hrithik has not said anything on the matter… Therefore, further updates to be followed.
