A-list actor Saif Ali Khan and producer Deepshikha Deshmukh (Pooja Entertainment) presented the trailer of Jawaani Jaaneman at Grand Royale London Hyde Park on Thursday 9th January 2020.
The event marked the second time ever that a Bollywood film trailer has been launched outside of India and the first-ever exclusive first launch in London.
With regards to stepping into the shoes of a producer, Deepshikha says:
“Our dad (Vashu Bhagnani) has shown us by practice, how to be part of this world and what it takes to be a filmmaker. People think that producing a film is just about the finances but it is so much more.
We are so excited to be developing interesting stories that we already have on our plate along with many others that are currently in nascent stages.”
The film tells the story of carefree, Punjabi bachelor and real estate broker, Jazz (Saif Ali Khan). His world is turned upside down when Tia (Alaya Furniturewala) arrives in London, claiming he’s her father.

Sharing a few words on doing the film, Saif exclusively tells Filme Shilmy:
“The blessing in this film are two things.
Firstly, is the director whom I didn’t really know as well, we talked about doing another film, but that didn’t work out and our jamming on that subject gave me the confidence in our potential together.
When we came on set, he elevated every scene and directed it much more than what was written on paper.
The second thing was the young lady Alaya. Farida Jalal ji – a senior actor who has seen several talents over the years – shot with her and looked at me saying ‘she’s brilliant’.
This generation is so well-prepared. She knew everything before she was on set and didn’t miss a beat.”
Jawaani Jaaneman is a coming of age film and a fun, comic take on how a carefree man confronts the harsh reality of his life. The film releases worldwide in cinemas on 31st January 2020.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar and as well as Saif, it also stars Tabu and Kubra Sait. It marks the Bollywood debut of Aalia Furniturewala.
Principal filming for the movie took place in London in Summer 2019.
